Detailed Information by Application

Water-soluble POVAL FILM, developed through original KURARAY technology, is used in a variety of applications that make use of its unique characteristic of dissolving quickly in water.

Unit-Packaging of Fertilizers, Dyes, Pigments, Waxes, and Toilet Disinfecting Detergents

  • Does away with the need to come into direct contact with the content.
  • Because the content is pre-measured, it enables the streamlining of tasks or use of proper amounts.
  • Removes the bothersome disposal of packaging after use

Agricultural Use as Seed Tape

  • Seeds for agricultural use can be equally spaced and embedded in a tape that can be planted in the ground as is. Because the plants germinate at regular intervals, it does away with the need to cull seedlings.

Use as Water-Soluble Embroidery Base, Topping or Backing

  • Water-soluble POVAL FILM can be used as the base material for cord embroidery in combination with tulle and other base materials that lack good dimensional stability.

Use in Curved-Surface Printing (Hydraulic Transfer)

  • Water pressure is utilized for the transfer printing of wood-grain and other patterns onto items with complex three-dimensional curved surfaces.

Industrial-use POVAL FILM has good detachability from thermoset resins, such as unsaturated polyester and epoxy, as well as from acrylic resins. It is used as a mold-release film when shaping tanks, bathtubs, and parts for use in ships and vehicles.
There are also other wide-ranging applications for industrial-use POVAL FILM. Contact us for details.
