The new Unsetsu Perfect fashions evolved from the product line released in 2000, and reflect the same themes of "blackness and tailoring" "light weight and optimum elasticity", and "appropriate resilience and luster." This line of men's formal wear is made from a combination of two materials—a proprietary material developed using advanced polymer technology and which displays superior dyeability, and another that combines optimum elasticity with resilience.
Through advanced technology Kuraray has combined high shrinkage and low shrinkage properties in this proprietary material, giving it a property we call "differential shrinkage," which results in a material that can be dyed to a highly-saturated black, yet has a surface that is soft to the touch. Proprietary polymer technology was employed to enhance the dyeability of the other material, and suitable resilience and lightness were achieved.
In honor of the Unsetsu Perfect 10th anniversary campaign, Unsetsu Furukawa has created a new line of formal suits. Moving forward from the old concept in formal suits, the new line is appropriate for both city streets and ceremonial occasions. In contrast to traditional single- and double-breasted suits, the City & Ceremony line includes peaked lapel suits, Mao collar suits, and Balmacaan collar suits.

For the past five to six years, three-button men's suits have been the mainstream in suit design. At the Pitti Immagine Uomo Downtown Autumn/Winter 2004/2005 show, however, peaked lapel two-button suits were the new trend. Combining fashion and function with slanted pockets and a center vent design, these highly versatile black suits are suitable for town or formal occasion. As with the Unsetsu Perfect line, these suits are made from a combination of the two materials described above. Linings are of purple twill, accented with and piping.
The coats have absorbent underarm pads, and the trousers have an unpleated, tight-fitting contour, and like the jacket present a sharp, urban image.

A new fashion in weddings has come to the fore, involving a casual, garden party reception attended mainly by friends and held at a restaurant. In response to this change, the Unsetsu Perfect Red line of formal suits has been introduced, with a design that sets them apart from traditional wedding attire. These are soft-type single-breasted suits in Mao collar and Balmacaan collar versions, and come in stripes, Jacguard, and twill materials with a woven feel. The trousers are double pleated to present the same soft image as the coats.
