Challenges and Strategies
Kuraray was the first company in the world to successfully develop liquid crystalline polymer film based on precise molecular orientation control technology. Used for electronic circuit board substrates, a growth field, we are accelerating the development of markets for this product, which features superior high-frequency characteristics, low water absorption, and excellent heat resistance.
We are also developing technologies and markets for other products used in the growing IT sector. One such product is a monofilament used for screen-printing.
This product is an ultra-fine monofilament made from a liquid crystalline polymer and other thermoplastic polymer composite spun yarns. It is mainly used as an ultra-fine screen mesh. Its high strength, abrasion resistance, dimensional stability, and other features are highly regarded by the electronics industry, and we are currently developing technologies to enable mass production.
