Non-woven Fabrics and Non-woven Fabric Raw Materials
The non-woven fabrics KURAFLEX are used in an extremely wide variety of applications, from lifestyle products to industrial materials and the medical field. Many products made using these fabrics have been received well by the market, include counter cloth, a commercial cloth for which we hold the largest market share in Japan. Others include wet tissues, coffee filters, various types of mask, and wipers for use in clean rooms. The Company also sells KURALON cotton for use in cell separators, as well as polyester cotton and raw cotton for use in non-woven fabrics.
Liquid crystalline polymer non-woven fabric is a heat-resistant, hydrophobicity that also has low dielectric dissipation in high frequency bands. It has received much attention as a material for use in printed circuit boards amid ongoing miniaturization and improved performance of IC packages, mobile phones, and other mobile devices. We aim to expand the range of applications for this material.
Due to the maturation of the Japanese domestic market and an increase in products imported from overseas in recent years, manufacturers have needed to restructure their non-woven fabric businesses. The Fibers and Industrial Materials Company is currently accelerating and expanding its establishment of overseas operations. It is also broadening the scope of its business and improving profitability by meeting customers' needs in the areas of lifestyle-related, medical, and industrial materials. Our unique, high-performance products, made using Kuraray's proprietary materials (KURALON ,KURALON K-Ⅱ, EVAL), play a key role in these efforts.
